UPCOMING SENIOR DATES AND HAPPENINGS!

 

 

Week of June 1st-4th  

  • Monday, June 1st - Graduation Practice #3 – 8:30am in the Large Gym.
  • Tuesday, June 2nd - Graduation Practice #4 – 8:30am in the Large Gym.
  • Wednesday, June 3rd - Graduation Practice #5 - Change of time 9:00am in the Large Gym.
  • Thursday, June 4th – Final Graduation Practice #6 - Report to Veterans Memorial Stadium at 7:15am - It is hot every year and we recommend students bring a wide brimmed hat, a long sleeve light colored shirt and eat a healthy breakfast (avoid excessive caffeine). We will make every effort to move quickly through practice and get students out of the heat. Please make sure your student is hydrating.
  • Graduation itself is on the evening of Thursday, June 4th at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.  The ceremony begins at 7:30pm. Gates open at 6:00pm, where you will pass through our Evolv security system before entering the stadium. Please allow extra time for this. 

 
  Graduation Practice Reminders:

  • Seniors will have graduation practice on June 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
  • Seniors should be on time and in dress code for all practices. 
    • Check in is 8:30am (7:15am on June 4th).
    • All Graduation Practices are MANDATORY. Please do not schedule any appointments during these times. Make sure your son/daughter is present for all practices. Absences can jeopardize walking in the graduation ceremony.
  • Students must have their Minga IDs or Student Connect for all meetings/practices.

 
 Graduation Reminders

  • Students must wear semi-formal/formal attire for graduation.  This includes a suit and/or long sleeve dress shirt, dress pants and tie, dresses, skirts, or pant suits.  Long dress or skirts are permitted but must not fall below the hem line of the graduation gown.  Strapless dresses or spaghetti strap dresses are not permitted. Shorts are not allowed.  Students must wear dress shoes…No athletic shoes, Birkenstocks, flip-flop type sandals or combat boots.
  • Adornments must conform to AR 5127. Bring adornments to Mr. Bowns office to confirm eligibility.  NHS, CSF, and ASD, AVID, State Seal of Biliteracy adornments are APPROVED.
  • Graduation caps must remain in their original condition as issued. Decorations, writing, stickers, paint, drawings, attachments, or any other modifications are not permitted.
  • Tickets are NOT REQUIRED for general seating at graduation.  The gates will open at 6:00pm for families to enter the stadium.  We ask that if you are saving seats, you do so only for your immediate party.
  • Balloons, large signs, air horns, cow bells or disruptive items are not allowed during the graduation ceremony.
  • Handicapped parking for guests with a valid placard will be available in the parking lot next to the softball fields off Nees. For guests in wheelchairs or with limited mobility, golf carts will be available to transport from any parking lot in the event the handicapped parking lot is full. We will also have designated handicapped stops near the softball and baseball parking lots (look for signage) where staff with golf carts can provide transportation to the stadium, or guests may flag down a staff member from their parking location for assistance getting to the stadium. 
  • Handicapped seating for guests who cannot navigate stairs or who use wheelchairs are available at the top of the platform on both sides of the stadium, before descending into the bleacher seating areas. If those areas become full, limited space will be available on the track, and only the handicapped guest and up to one accompanying guest may be seated there.
  • Please see attached map for where to meet your senior after the ceremony.
  • Transcript Request Reminder – Student need to complete the Final Transcript Request Form that was emailed to them for colleges/universities or employers. Students, please check your inbox for the email that includes the link or request one for your own records through Parchment.

Adornment for Graduation

The following academic adornments provided by the District may be worn by students during the graduation ceremony: CSF Gold Cord, CSF Life Pin, Top 20 Medallion, National Honor Society Sash and AVID sash.  Additionally, a student may wear tribal, religious or cultural adornments consistent with Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5127. “Cultural” means recognized practices and traditions of a certain group of people. “Adornment” means either (i) something attached to, worn with, or worn in place of, the cap customarily worn at school graduation ceremonies; or (ii) something attached to or worn with, but not replacing, the gown customarily worn at school graduation ceremonies. 

 

The District reserves the right to limit items of adornment that are likely to cause a substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the graduation ceremony. Adornments displaying language, symbols, or imagery that promote hate, violence, discrimination, or disrupt the ceremony or event are not permitted. Additional information will be provided at upcoming graduation/senior meetings.
