Throughout the school year, representatives from each branch of the United States Military visit Clovis North Counseling Center to meet with interested students. If you would like more information about a career in the military, we encourage you to speak with your counselor, visit the college and career center, or contact a recruiter.
ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps. It is a college program offered at more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serve in the Military after graduation. When enrolled in ROTC you learn first-hand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups and how to conduct missions as a military officer. If interested, meet with a recruiter during your junior year to learn more about the application process.
If you are a student interested in pursuing a college education at a United States Service Academy, you are encouraged to attend the annual Academy Night held at the Clovis Unified District Professional Development Building. The Academy Night typically takes place in the fall of each year. Liaisons representing the Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, Military Academy (West Point), Naval Academy and ROTC will be in attendance to answer questions and review the admissions process.
There are four U.S. Service Academies that require a congressional nomination:
United States Air Force Academy
United States Merchant Marine Academy
United States Military Academy (West Point)
United States Naval Academy
Please visit the Congressman's website for even more Academy information.
